I'm big on the Law of Attraction. I write out my dreams and manifestations and believe my mindset and actions will create my reality. During a morning in April, I woke up, said my affirmations and set intentions that artistic opportunities would come to me. Then I went about my day but first - coffee! I searched for cafe's near me and I chose a spot I hadn't tried before just down the street from me. I ordered, sat down and sipped my drank, as I admired the low key artsy vibes around me. Fox Coffee House in Long Beach is also an Open Mic house where musicians, writers and poets come together to share their passions.
I spotted a small "Call for Artists" sign on their corkboard across the room for their upcoming May 19, 2017, art show. I was excited about it, so I immediately emailed them with pictures of my art and after a few days of anticipation, they accepted my art into their show. It was a great night with music, coffee house drinks, friends, artists and art enthusiasts. I displayed my art there for a week, and met a few artists and I feel blessed to have walked into Fox Coffee House that morning because I was presented with an opportunity to share my art with others and do what I love to do! herstory - a celebration of women artists On March 30, 2017, the Lynwood Union Art Gallery in Lynwood, California presented "Herstory: A Celebration of Women" and I participated in the Women Artists Art Exhibit.
People hung out outside and laughed and connected with one another, flowers were given to every woman who attended the event and dessert was provided for guests to enjoy while soaking up the lovely live music coming from the guitarist and saxophone player inside of the gallery. There was so much happy energy flowing in and around me, people were loving my art and I was able to meet a lot of kind souls. It was my first art show and my very first time sharing my art with anyone at all, so I will always hold the memory of this day close to my heart, as it pushed me to want to keep sharing my art and gifts with the world. Check out photos of the Herstory event below. |
